INVESTING IN MY AVATAR

Tonight in class after Meshmoon was glitching and also showing very little avatar customization, and with the recent acquisition (and subsequent shutdown) of CloudParty by Yahoo!, we tried out... wait for it... wait for it... SECOND LIFE!!!

CLASS 9: CUSTOMIZING MY AVATAR

We are in Meeeeshmoooon now!

And before we transfered to Second Life here were my screen shots of avatar 'customization' (or lack there of in this case!)

Here is Jamie and Ian with me! And I am my favorite angry snowman!
Well this is quite fitting for BC now isn't it? Hello Father!!

Class 9 Roll Call

and here is the second Roll Call as well:

Class (8) 9, FINAL PREPARATION: Learning the basics of JavaScript.

Here is me messin around some more with KHAN ACADEMY! MY FAVORITE!!

Class 7, FINAL PREPARATION: Choosing a JavaScript programming track

So I already took CS101 and Digital World at BC, and was at one point a Comp Sci major... yeah that never really turned out to fruition but at least I learned a lot and knew what these were all about before I started them!

So my favorite was probably Khan Academy, because it was more GRAPHICS BASED. And like I said before I was a CS major and it burned me out from programming, so I wasn't all that thrilled when the more logic based language programming popped up. Also this class is called DISCOVERING COMPUTER GRAPHICS... NOT 'INTRO TO PROGRAMMING'!!!!!
This is a video lecture of the introduction to computer science on the Khan Academy website. I found this cartoon funny and helpful for beginners so I screenshot it. It brought back memories of how things are spelled interestingly in the CS world, so you decapitalize the first letter and capitalize the first letter of the second word for a program or command. Ie. firstProgram. It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. This is my profile. I like how you get energy points and can earn badges. It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc
This is my program for drawing an 'H' (for Grace Hopper, the 'mother' of Computer Science. It could also be a uniquely architectured building! It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

SECOND BEST:   LearnStreet

I liked the other two, but not as much as Khan Academy. Learnstreet was cool in that it showed your progress in a very user friendly way.

This is LearnStreet. The very beginning of the tutorial, 2+3 is hardly coding but it's a start I guess! It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

This is LearnStreet being glitchy and dumb, which if you caught my anger last week at PowerBullet, you will understand. The program was being dumb in that it didn't 'recall' myName as Stevo and instead returned it as 'JS Console!' It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

This is me winning a very prestigious award LOL. But in all seriousness it is nice to feel appreciated. It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

Next best: CodeAcademy

Not to be confused with KHAN Academy, this one was good also and fun but it was lengthy and reminded me the most of Python which is what I had to use in class and therefore brought back memories of being stressed out! LOL

This is again more simple arithmetic but this time on CodeAcademy. It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

This is intentionally making an error with 'Eggplantz' LOL. It was just gibberish so of course the CPU doesn't recognize it! It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

This is me struggling as my brain is fried from all this and not having an adequate break. I fixed the syntax symbols error shortly after but was riding the struggle bus for a lil bit here! It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. MIDTERM #4 - MeshMoon Avatar Postcard

Greetings! Wish you were here! Not!!! Because? Because MESHMOON Rocket keeps crashing before I can enter ANY world! It started just being the worlds I created got crashed on, but since I emailed Cveton (?) who works for Meshmoon, he told me to update my computer, upon doing so now I cannot get into any world! Darn! I will hope to have this resolved and update my blog ASAP! Please don't penalize me for this, as I have been trying to get Meshmoon to work for weeks now and no luck!

Class 4 Assignment 8 - 3 New Meshmooooons

So here is my first world that I actually went to before but forgot to add the Screenshot.
I am playing a green robot. He is cute. And this other dude was wildin' me out so... ya.

So I changed my avatar to Julie cause she is a hot chica!
There was this dude Balthasar but he wouldn't talk to me.
I think maybe he was never actually there (in real life) but his
Avatar stayed behind because he never logged out.

This was awesome. I was playing a trippy Eminem song so it was really weird to
be 'living' in this freaky evil clown place. I came in as my avatar being the scary
snowman dude, but a pop-up screen said I can't edit anything... okay, I'm not trying to edit I just want to be the SCARY SNOWMAN SO I WILL SURVIVE THIS FREAKSHOW PLACE! But this dude they gave me instead (Business suit Jack?) at least makes me feel like he could be the sinister ringleader or something!

CLaSs 7 AsSiGnMEnTS

As a HUGE Patriots fan, I used all my images for these exercise (minus the midterm ones) on Darelle Revis, the newest signed player and one of the best in his position in the NFL!

MIDTERM #8

This is the original a friend took for my acting headshot in 2011.

I used the clone tool to copy and paste my clearer skin patches over my acne.

I use the clone and the burn (lighten) tool to make me teeth whiter.

It looks like I have heavy make up on or just received a facial skin graft.

This is removing blemishes and retouching a headshot (something useful for my future career!) I used the program similar to Photoshop called GIMP. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. MIDTERM #7

This is a picture of a lady who is menacing and this weird Matrix looking logo that will be placed over her eyes. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

This is the caption that I was forced to add It is a play on the internet MEME of 'All your base are belong to us.".
